Introducing
Brompton Blues Band

The Brompton Blues Band was formed in early 2009. It gets it's name from the suburb in Adelaide where the band practice together in a tin shed.

Acoutsic & Slide Guitar

Vocals

I’ve played guitar since I was 12. Was in a church youth group band. Have always had music as a passion. Joined the Warriors in 2005. Played my first gig in front of an audience at Fowlers Live with a band called 'The In-Experienced'. Went onto play another round and formed a band called 'Mixed Breed'.  In 2007 Kev and I formed a band with Karl Zander, JP (harp) and Fritz (drums) called 'Snake Pit' and played at the 2nd Moorook Blues festival in the Riverland over the June long weekend. Snake Pit disbanded and reformed as 'Shoebox Blues' playing old style acoustic blues from Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon. After a short success Karl and JP decided to leave and the Brompton Blues Band was formed.

Picked up the bass again thanks to Weekend Warriors Round 9 about 5 years ago. I had mucked around with bass ,banjo and guitar over many years with little success. Have been in a number of Warrior bands playing a mix of music from the contorted country sound of the 'Cannelloni Cowboys', a stint in an Angels cover band to the rock'n'roll of 'Wis'n Up'.

Greg Osborn

Lead Guitar

Vocals

I have played guitar since the age of nine.
Aside from a couple of teenage garage bands there was not much band action until joining the Weekend Warriors programme in November 2006, I haven't looked back since.
My Musical influences are the classic rhythm and blues bands of the sixties, seventies and eighties. Favourites among them Led Zeppelin, Blues Breakers and The Rolling Stones. My favourite guitarists are Lez karski, Jimmy Page and Frank Zappa - I can t play like any of them though. I just play like me instead.

Guitar

Dabbled in music at school with recorder, trumpet and clarinet. Sang in school and church choirs. Had a rest from music for over 20 years when I joined the Royal Australian Navy. Took up the guitar in 2004 and then attended Basic Blues Harmonica course at WEA in 2008. A friend convinced me to join the Weekend Warriors in March 2009 and had a blast. Joined Brompton Blues Band in June 2009 and haven't looked back...
